Bei der Entwicklung ihrer Gitarrenfarben haben sich die Entwickler der Nitor Lacke an Originalmustern aus den 50er und 60er Jahren orientiert. Basierend auf den Originalfarben von Fender und Gibson wurden nach gründlichen Studien und viel Arbeit in ihrem Labor und ihrer technischen Abteilung Farben erreicht, welche die Farbtöne von Vintage-Fender- und Gibson-Gitarren originalgetreu nachbilden. Die Vintage-Gitarrenfarben haben sich im Laufe der Jahre aufgrund der Alterung des Nitrolacks und Änderungen der markeneigenen Farben der großen Gitarrenhersteller stark verändert. Daher können zwei Gitarren, die 1960 mit Fender-Kartenfarben fertiggestellt wurden, heute völlig unterschiedlich aussehen, auch wenn man sie mit einer heute aktuell produzierten Gitarre vergleicht.
Damit das Lackieren einer Gitarre auch ohne eigenes Lackierequipment gelingt, gibt es von Nitorlack alle Farben auch als Nitrolack in der Sprühdose.
Dies hängt stark von der Holzart und der Menge Lack ab, die für jede Schicht aufgetragen wird, sowie vom gewünschten Ergebnis (z.B. hochglanz oder „offenporig“). Aber allgemein kann man sich in etwa hieran orientieren:

Wenn du deine Gitarre perfekt lackieren möchtest und über eine Lackierausrüstung (Spritzpistole und Kompressor) verfügst, ist Nitrolack aus der Dose die erste Wahl. Es wird empfohlen, das Produkt mit Lösungsmittel zu verdünnen, um die Viskosität zu erhöhen bzw. optimal anzupassen. Für eine perfekte Anwendung haben wir zwei Arten von Lösungsmitteln. Das gängige verwendete Lösungsmittel ist “Solvent Medium”, aber für Umgebungsbedingungen mit extremer Feuchtigkeit und Temperatur empfehlen wir “Solvent Retard”, um die Bildung von Schleiern im Finish zu vermeiden. Die optimalen Anwendungsbedingungen liegen zwischen 15 und 25 ºC Temperatur und 50 bis 70 % Luftfeuchtigkeit. Der Prozentsatz der Verdünnung hängt von der Lackieranlage und deiner Konfiguration ab, es werden jedoch zwischen 10 und 20 % Lösungsmittel empfohlen.
