4 Non Blondes were formed in San Francisco in 1989 by Linda Perry. In 1990 the band had a local hit with Mr President, but it was the album Bigger Better Faster More that climbed the charts. 4 Non Blondes consisted of Christa Hillhouse – bass guitar, Roger Rocha - guitar , Dawn Richardson – drums and vocalist Linda Perry. 4 Non Blondes had a huge hit single in 1993 with What's Up. The song was slowly added to modern rock stations and then crossed over into the mainstream, peaking at number 11 on the Billboard Top 200.
